Southern Shells ("we," "us," "our") operates southernshells.com and a retail location in Grand Bay, Alabama. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. Name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, and order details when you place an order, create an account, sign up for our email list, or request a back-in-stock notification.

Payment information. Card payments are processed by Shopify Payments and other payment providers. We do not receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our site we collect device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, referring site, and similar usage data through cookies and comparable technologies.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the store, keep items in your cart, remember preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure advertising.

Our site uses:

  • Shopify — the ecommerce platform that runs the store, including essential cookies for cart and checkout
  • Meta Pixel — measures the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and may be used to show you our ads
  • Email signup and back-in-stock tools — record your signup and let us notify you

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Essential cookies are required for checkout to function.

How we use your information

  • Fulfill orders, process payments, and arrange shipping or pickup
  • Communicate about orders, including confirmations and delivery updates
  • Send marketing emails or texts when you have asked to receive them
  • Notify you when an item you requested is back in stock

Marketing communications

If you sign up through our website popup, at checkout, or in the store, we may send you promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message, or by emailing support@southernshells.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages about orders you have placed.

Back-in-stock requests are used to send that specific notification. We will only add you to our general marketing list if you have separately agreed.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only as needed to run the business:

  • Service providers — Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, email and marketing platforms, and app providers that support the store
  • Advertising partners — Meta, for measurement and advertising, as described above
  • Legal — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, property, or safety

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Data retention

We keep order records as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet tax, accounting, and food-safety requirements. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information.

Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@southernshells.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA.

Children

Our store is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above will change when we do.
